Hiking on the Vallee Blanche glacier
We propose two formulas this summer for the spectacular crossing of the Mont-Blanc massif , both departure from the Aiguille du Midi cable car in Chamonix center
4 persons maximum per high mountain guide ... full day only.
1- Departure from the Aiguille du Midi, for a Vallée Blanche crossing, then return by the spectacular Panoramic. This formula has the advantage to offer you less ascent (350m). However, the descent of the ridge will remain impressive and sometimes unequipped can be more difficult for cramping.
2- Departure from the Aiguille du Midi, for a traverse with the Panoramic skips, and a return to the Vallée Blanche ice walk by going back to the Aiguille du Midi. This second formula has the advantage of a serene ascent of the ridge for beginners, although the climb is more uneven and longer (750m). This route requires a better physical condition.
This crossing of the Mont-Blanc massif from France to Italy, or from Italy to France, is done on the glaciers that make up the Mer de Glace... ending 2 000m below. All this at the foot of the mythical faces of Chamonix.
Maximum altitude : 3 800m. Minimum : 3 100m.
